FOOD OF THE WORLD: SPANISH CUISINE

Spanish cuisine is internationally renowned for its paella, cured ham and tapas, but what about its other dishes?

A country’s food says a lot about its culture, and if there’s one thing we can boast about it’s that we have one of the most varied and complete cuisines in the world. Our privileged geographical location and our history mean we have received influences from different cultures that have left their mark on our dishes.

Much more than just paella: richness, diversity, quality and flavor

One feature of Spanish cuisine is that each region has its own dishes, but they all have a common denominator: the quality of their ingredients.

As with the food, we should also be proud of our drinks. Our wines are also very diverse and offer exceptional quality. So, why not enjoy both at the same time?

Our Luxus One wines in particular represent that diversity in wine. A crosscutting brand that captures Spain’s diversity. This brand brings together the best of our country and exports it around the world.

Let’s champion our cuisine!

Madrilenian stew, Galician broth and Asturian fabada are the stews and potages par excellence in Spanish cuisine. Who wouldn’t fancy one of these dishes? All three possess the necessary nutritional elements, but the best thing of all is that they are enjoyable to eat. And if they are also accompanied by a robust wine like Luxus One D.O.Q. Priorat, the greasy of the meat is counteracted by balsamic and mineral notes.

Ajoarriero cod, chickpeas with cod, bacalao a la vizcaína (Biscay-style cod)… Northern Spanish cuisine is delicious and varied. Thanks to its chefs, it has already gained a foothold on the international scene, but there’s still a long way to go. Luxus One D.O.Ca. Rioja pairs well with cod stews, although these are usually paired with white wines. At the end of the day, what really matters is that we choose the combination that we like the most.

And let’s not forget Marmitako (Basque tuna stew), chicken chilindrón, roast suckling pig or migas (breadcrumbs) from Extremadura. Dishes that could perfectly depict the essence of Spain anywhere in the world. Any of these dishes can be accompanied by Luxus One D.O. Ribera del Duero thanks to its freshness and structure.

These are some of the unmissable dishes that any good international diner should try.
